When you live with a narcissist, you decide at some point that maybe it is time to leave, because you can’t take another minute of the silent treatment, rage episodes, and controlling behaviors. The problem is, you don’t know how you would make it financially. Not only is there the issue of paying for a place to live, but there are things the kids need, repairs for the house, and other necessities that you rely on your partner for.

And, if you were to leave, what about attorney fees? A divorce can cost tens of thousands of dollars in some cases. It’s all so overwhelming. You instinctively know that if you were to file for divorce, your spouse would not make it easy on you. This would be considered war in their eyes, meaning they would fight to the death to win. If they happen to have more financial resources at their disposal, this could be very detrimental to you.
